Wine and Whimsy

My spouse and I love to go out for dinner and La Gargote is a favourite restaurant. In winter it is cosy and welcoming. Located in an old building in Old Montreal, the restaurant has large wooden beams on the ceiling. A fireplace adds warmth to both the room temperature and the atmosphere. Food is always good and the personnel are always welcoming (the owner remembered us even though we only go there a couple of times a year).

In summer there is an outdoor terasse - a delightful spot and a totally different atmosphere.



Guarding the spot where the tables once sat was this jaunty fellow. He watches carefully though I think he will be absent when we once again have a summer meal here!

August is petering out and soon the rush of September will be here. The cooler temperatures will bring new energy and the new school year brings a resumption of activities, concerts and other delights.

But for now, a slow glass of wine and a good dinner in a Greek restaurant. Dreams of travel and life at a quiet pace - as the Greek music wafts over me. Feeling mellow

Another year begins with good intentions. I refuse to make resolutions as we all know what happens to those. I look forward to a year of more photographs and writing and honing both. I hope to find, or should I say make the time to learn more about photography. Any pointers are welcome. I also look forward to cultivating my online relationships, and to continuing to see the world with my newly focussed eyes.

My blog name no longer made sense - so today is day one of Through My Eyes. It will probably cut down on my hits as many seemed to be in response to a search for 365 stories. So as the new year starts I welcome those who stop by to share my world as I look through my eyes and mull over what I see.
