Leaves lie scattered on the ground.
Slow decay
First frost touches ground
soon to be burned off by the warming sun.
Autumn vistas change from red to golds
As the colour drains out of the landscape
We walked enjoying the autumn chill.
November is coming.
What a lovely prose poem celebrating the end of fall, Susan. I see the color draining from your landscape - some of it crinkling underfoot. Your photo of frost on the leaves and grasses is wonderful. Enjoy this time before your first snowfall.
ReplyDeleteI liked to see your photos and your words. The frost on the leave is beautiful. The color is changing day by day in my town too.
ReplyDeleteHave a good November!
