Through Parc Bois-de-Liesse

Take a walk with me through Bois-de-Liesse where the forest is coming to life.



A carpet of trilliums covers the forest floor. It is definitely the height of the trillium season. Some are starting to fade into pink.



We spotted one red trillium; its bloom was drooping down.



New growth - changes from day to day.







I had to keep stopping to admire. The only drawback were the mosquitoes that have emerged from the still waters. I am afraid there are a few less than when we arrived. Some of my swatting hit the mark.

Trillium Time

Trillium time - the bright white flowers blanket the slopes in Summit Park. A profusion of blooms, a flurry of flowers.




Catch them while they are here. They don't last long!

Magnolias Opening

I had to stop and look. A magnolia just demands attention. Spring is rushing into summer weather. You can almost watch the changes happening. By afternoon when I passed this tree the blooms were wide open. You have to appreciate these while they are there for the wind and the rain may make their stay short-lived.

First Blossoms

Blossom covered trees take my breath away. And the first ones sighted are magical. The delicacy, the ephemeral nature, the feeling of joy after a long winter... I just have to stop and drink in their beauty.

Row Houses

Each house similar, yet each finds ways to express a different personality. Colour, architectural details, the front garden - each contribute to making a unique statement.

Hockey Season

We got past an election, a winter that never seemed to end and now we are into hockey season. Many cars are sporting their Canadiens flag. If there is one thing that unites Montrealers, it is their love of the beloved team. Even our buses travel the city with Go Canadiens Go flashing on the front.

Next game: today at 7:00. Many will be glued to the TV.

First Green

There is something special about the first pale greens of spring. They are late this year and thus all the more welcome.
