Daily Shoot: Make a photograph today that features or uses a liquid as a subject
Water - it seems so innocuous. Yet if you read the news today, visit Australia and see the devastating effects of water gone wild. My thoughts are with my virtual friend in Brisbane, who though she is on higher ground, is witnessing the inundation there. Today is the first anniversary of the earthquake in Haiti. Clean water there is still a problem resulting in many suffering from cholera.
It flows clear and clean from my tap. No shortages. This is a resource to be treasured.

I never seem to get tired of photographing flowers. Their infinite variety, incredible colours and details keep me captivated. This little blossom finally got planted. I hauled water and did get half my flowers into permanent positions. The others are waiting patiently but they do get watered regularly.

Fortunately most of my garden is full of perennials so I just have to fill in some of the holes. We expect rain on Tuesday. It will take a lot to really soak the garden. While it is delightful to have sunny days, we are experiencing low water conditions with forest fires in the northern part of the province and thirsty flowers here.

Day 138: Water for Horses

A water trough for horses with fresh water spewing out can be found as you walk through Mount Royal Park. A plaque dedicates it to someone who was a lover of horses. The only horses you see on the mountain are those ridden by the police. They patrol the mountain on horseback. Their stable is located just off the road that cuts through the mountain.

Occasionally the caleche drivers come up to the mountain to offer tours. Perhaps their horses take advantage of this ready supply of water.
