Finally, we got out our snow shoes - the first time this almost snowless winter. It was wonderful to tramp through the snow and stop and enjoy the woods. These maple seed pods still cling to the branch, waiting for spring.
The fresh snow stuck in crevices, on ledges and in clumps on the branches of trees. It created snowy sculptures.
Like the seed pods, a few dry leaves still hang on. So much to notice as we make our way through the woods.
