I arrived at the nursing home to visit and the entire roofline of the building was framed by a gathering of gulls. These birds have learned to adapt to city life, fishing for garbage rather than fishing in the water. Buildings have become their trees on which to perch.
They are such social birds, usually sticking with the flock. Yet when one snags a piece of food, instinct takes over and they are not interested in sharing.
