Looking Around

I went to see the murals, but there was so much more to see! I always like to look at architecture, to see the details, the way buildings have character. This one also had  interesting angles, reflections and shadows - so much to catch my eye. I converted it to black and white - below is the colour version - which do you prefer?

It was a colourful day with a perfect blue sky and brightly coloured wares trying to catch your attention.



Chairs, clothing, and the aromas of street food cooking! A feast for the senses.




And people watching...This woman walked purposefully down the street, her arms behind her back. I couldn't resist the juxtaposition of this man, arms behind his back, but in much more modern attire.



Doors, gardens and more invite a stop and stare through the camera lens. I must take time to explore other areas of my city.

One rainy day followed by another. These outdoor tables sit idle - no takers for lunch in the rain. While the lawns are lush and green, I have not been tempted to plant annuals. It's just too soggy!

Daily Shoot: Create a photograph today that illustrates or shows rhythm.
Rehearsal.
Chairs stacked.
We don't need them all.
Time to play.
Complicated rhythms.
Complicated metre - 5/8 time.
Counting
Sometimes with the other parts
Sometimes against.
It just adds to the excitement
When the rhythms play off each other.
I guess that's like life.

In the May sunshine these chairs sit waiting for an owner. I can picture them on a veranda or out on a dock looking out over a calm Laurentian Lake as someone slowly rocks to the sounds of the gentle lapping of the water on the shore. Rocking chairs elicit calmness, images of mothers rocking babies, or older folk rocking to the rhythm of their memories.
