The Scent of Basil

Basil

The scent of basil - just brush against the leaves and the aroma fills the room. I bought a live plant and it is growing rapidly. It makes demands. If I don't water it every day it droops down forlornly. I have been plucking off leaves and eating them with bocconcini and tomatoes with a bit of dressing. The taste is as intoxicating as the smell. I am going to have to use it more frequently as it keeps expanding and demanding.

  1. Good idea! I hope the scent of your basil is traveling to me.

  2. I've bought live plants and haven't had much luck. I think it's just too dry here. I used to grow them outside in Denver, but here in the mountains it gets too cool at night even in summer. I think basil is my favorite herb - we love it with tomatoes, mozzarella, olive oil, and balsamic. Yum - I've made myself hungry.
