Spring Runoff

Spring Runoff by susanvg
Spring Runoff, a photo by susanvg on Flickr.
The melting snow finds its way to streams and ponds. This river was swollen with the spring melt. What is a usually playful dance over the rocks is now a noisy torrent.

Pussywillows

Pussy willows start to emerge, a sure sign that spring is taking hold. As snow recedes the remnants of autumn are revealed.

Some dry leaves still cling to the trees. A gentle breee sets them off, rustling like the wings of a swarm of insects. They are not ready to take flight. New growth will push them off.

Spring comes in, full of energy.

  1. Thank goodness for spring runoff! It snowed here in CO yesterday, but today the sun is shining. Warming trend by the weekend. I'm hoping to see your signs of spring soon
