Feb 20/10: Scroll   Fiddlehead

The scroll of the fiddlehead certainly resembles that of a stringed instrument.


  1. Wow yeah good name for those! I've never had them. Looks interesting....

  2. Now I’ve learned it is called “fiddlehead” in English. It is Pteridium aquilinum, or “warabi” in Japanese. Now is the season of fiddlehead in my place, too. I’m afraid it is one of the vegetables I don’t like to eat.

  3. I like your comparison here, Susan. I've only eaten fiddlehead ferns once and I thought they were delicious.
