Windows by susanvg
Windows, a photo by susanvg on Flickr.
The ISTE conference gave me a window into what is happening across North America. It was wonderful to meet with so many of my virtual friends, and especially with my Flickr friends. I had the opportunity to take a photo jaunt with a few of them: @colemama @NedraI and @kaytech. You can see us reflected back - each ready with our cameras.

Reflecting on Flickr Friendships

Here are some of the photos from that walk. Elfreth's Alley is in the historic area. Some houses are well kept, others need a little TLC.

In Elfreth's Alley

Montreal has many old buildings that now have external fire escapes. There was a lot of that in Philadelphia, too.

We passed old buildings and newer ones, often in the same block.

I can never resist interesting windows or beautiful ironwork.

Fancy Ironwork

Many more photos were taken - too many to upload. It is interesting to see what each of us noticed, how each of us looked and chose to photograph. Flickr friends are now face-to-face friends.

  1. What a great collection of windows and doors! (A nice collection of friends, too!)

  2. It's so nice to meet blog friends or flicker friends in person. I wonder which is you among four of you.

Montreal looks fascinating. Red doors are lovely, but quite unique if found here in Nara. Modern architectures and old ones stand alternately here, too. I like your photos, especially the ones of windows.

    Have a happy weekend!

  3. What a great series of pics. Now I have to go see the different POV from the others looking at similar things - but that is a good thing.

Great that you all had the opportunity for a F2F meeting.

  4. Susan - it was such fun to visit with you on our photographic stroll through the city of 'brotherly love'! And it is great to see both our similar and different 'eyes' for images! :)

  5. Some really great captures here!
