Sunday morning concerts are always by an invited group - this time Ensemble Eya. They specialize in medieval music with instrumental and vocal pieces. The ensemble consists of two performers who sing and play a variety of instruments from vielle to recorders to bagpipes to a string drum. These add interesting textures and moods.

Medieval and Renaissance Instruments

  1. Very interesting! I enjoy imagining how the medieval music solemnly resonate in a hall.

  2. I love the intricacy of these instruments - beautiful looking as well as sounding.

  3. You are really spoiled for choice when it comes to music! Wonderful old instruments - must have sounded special.
