City Tulips

Our previous mayor had been head of our Botanical Gardens. While he had other shortcomings, he did help beautify the city. There are many flower beds on the medians of roads sporting tulips. In other places, large tubs of flowers are deposited in late spring so that flowers become part of a more concrete landscape.

I managed to snap this photo while stopped at a red light. With our cold, rainy May, the tulips are hanging around.

  1. The curving stems of some tulips are interesting. Since others are standing erect, the curves don't seem to be caused by wind.

Here, rainy season has set in officially two weeks earlier than usual. Have a nice weekend!

  3. Wonderful post.
Your previous mayer had a wonderful idea for people. A friend of mine in Mito has done voluntter work to take care of flowers in her local town. Many kinds of flowers are blooming and in full bloom on public streets through out years.Flowers are always kind to people.
