Day 110: Unruly Flowers

Day 110: Unruly Flowers, originally uploaded by susanvg.

I love these blue flowers. They spread wherever they like, perhaps assisted by the local squirrels. They don't stay within the lines of the flower beds but proliferate as they please, cutting a swath over lawns or popping up in odd places.

These scylla are among our first flowers; their splashes of blue a welcome change after months of white.

  1. I wonder if these would grow at high altitude? Scylla - I'll have to do a search on them. I like plants that grow anywhere and under any conditions!

  2. We have these alongside my house here in Duluth...I know some people think they're a nuisance but I just see them as one more sign that spring has arrived. I never knew what they were called, thanks for that!
